Excerpt from A Description of the Antiquities and Other Curiosities of Rome, Vol. 2 of 2: From Personal Observation During a Visit to Italy in the Years 1818-19Dionysius proceeds to state, that round three sides of 1t there was a stream of water, called Eurzpus, 10 feet in depth and width. Behind this was a triple portico: the lower seats were of stone, the upper of wood.
